With technology evolving at a rapid pace, TLMI has emphasized education around the newest products and trends impacting the industry. After a six-year hiatus, the TLMI printTHINK Summit will return in 2025. From June 11-12, TLMI will welcome attendees to Rosemont, IL, to learn more about the newest technological trends.

The event is co-located with Amplify Print. All attendees of printTHINK will receive a free registration to Amplify Print. Registration is available here.

“printTHINK Summit was historically a TLMI member favorite that’s been on pause since the pandemic,” explains Linnea Keen, president and CEO, TLMI. “Revived by TLMI’s dedicated Technical Committee, the event is designed specifically for technical professionals in the label and packaging space.

“Knowing how busy this year is for our members, we strategically chose to co-locate printTHINK with Amplify, hosted by our fellow print associations, WhatTheyThink and Foil & Specialty Effects Association (FSEA). Many of our members already attend Amplify, so the partnership makes it even easier to engage with both events in one trip. Hosting the event in Rosemont, IL, makes it a convenient destination—just a short flight or drive for most,” she adds.

TLMI printTHINK Summit will feature in-depth presentations and a keynote from Mike Apperson, CEO of Resource Label Group. The sessions will cover a range of topics, from advanced decoration techniques and ink and coating formulations, to digital label finishing and pressroom best practices.

Member driven

TLMI’s dedicated membership played an instrumental role in spurring the event’s return. Strong feedback from TLMI members illustrated demand for more insights and education regarding new label printing capabilities and technologies.

The return emanated from conversations dating back to 2022. “The idea to bring printTHINK back started gaining momentum at our Committee Summit in 2022,” says Keen. “The energy and excitement were undeniable. Last year, we got a taste of its potential when we co-hosted a similar event with AWA just before Labelexpo. The feedback was so strong, we knew we had to do it again—this time with more focus, more value, and more TLMI member-driven content.”

Members will be privy to in-depth sessions that are dynamic and insight-rich, with topics ranging from cutting-edge technology and production trends to materials, automation, and sustainability.

“printTHINK delivers a unique kind of value,” remarks Keen. “It offers content you won’t find at any other TLMI event, curated specifically for technical professionals—but highly relevant for cross-functional roles, as well.”

TLMI’s Key Pillars

The return of printTHINK Summit adheres to the association’s goals, which have been established over the years. The committee recognized the need to bring this event back and has been instrumental in planning it from Day One. Flint Group’s Keith Nagle and AWT Labels & Packaging’s Gretchen Tobol, who have served as co-chairs, helped create the dynamic agenda. The event’s expert speakers and sessions reflect the evolving needs of the label and package printing industry.

“TLMI exists to connect, educate, and advance our industry—and printTHINK is a perfect example of that mission in action,” comments Keen. “By focusing on the technical side of label and packaging production, we’re shining a spotlight on the innovations and ideas that are driving the industry forward. We’re also creating a space where members can share knowledge, sharpen skills, and collaborate on what’s next.”
